Wisslax Boys Lacrosse

If you are trying to find out information regarding the Wissahickon Boys Lacrosse program, please click here. We are two separate organizations.

Please note our new policy: Wisslax is no longer accepting new families ("New" is defined as a player who did not play in our program in grades 3rd through 7th during the spring 2015 season) that live in areas that already have an established PAGLA program. Currently we are only accepting new families from the Wissahickon and North Penn school districts in our 3rd-8th grade programs. This policy does not effect families that have returning players in our 3rd-8th grade programs. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact us at .

Starting in Spring 2016, we will hold practices and games at two locations:

-Wissahickon High School, Ambler, PA

-Center Square Park, Whitpain Township, PA

Play it Forward Equipment Drive

WissLax “Play it Forward” Girls Equipment Drive

As our WissLax spring season has come to an end, some of our players will begin to transition to summer travel lacrosse programs or get ready for moving up a program, we wanted to reach out to our families to see if your daughters have outgrown their equipment. Joanne Hippensteal and Karen Donofrio (WissLax 7/8 Program) are launching a new program through WissLax called “Play it Forward” where we conduct equipment drives and free outreach clinics focused on limiting the barriers of new players joining this great sport of lacrosse.

To launch this new program, Carolyn Wilde of the Wissahickon High School girls varsity lacrosse team, has taken on our first program as her Graduation Project. Carolyn, with the support of WissLax is conducting an outreach program targeting the underrepresented youth girls in the Wissahickon Valley area called “Lax’n in the Park.” It is a summer lacrosse program that includes free clinics to girls in our community that do not have the means to play lacrosse and the best part of this program is that it is ALL FREE.

Through this program, we will be creating a pool of lightly used equipment to lend to the Lax’n in the Park beginners as well as any future WissLax players to help overcome the initial cost of getting started in lacrosse. You can help these aspiring young players, while growing the great game of lacrosse and freeing space in your basement, closets or attic by donating your used lacrosse equipment for girls (...we will even take boys’ equipment since WissLax Girls will be helping the boys program launch a similar outreach program).

This program is WissLax’s commitment to provide girls in the Wissahickon Valley area (Wissahickon & North Penn School Districts) with the opportunity to learn and play lacrosse, and by making it affordable to all young girls.

So How You Can Help:

  • Please contribute used girls equipment include: sticks and eye protection;
  • We will accept any equipment for girls, as we have a team of WissLax players who are ready to refurbish the equipment as it comes in;
  • If in doubt on the condition of the equipment, please donate it and we will make the determination.

Where You Can Drop Off Equipment: There are several opportunities to donate your old equipment over the month of May and June.

  • WissLax will be collecting the donated equipment at the Center Square Park field on Tuesday, May 31st, Thursday, June 2nd, Monday, June 6th and Tuesday, June 7th from 6pm to 8pm;
  • Contact Joanne Hippensteal to arrange alternative drop-off/pick up times at your home just email or text us @ 215/850-8444 or

Thank you for your consideration and participation in helping young kids to play lacrosse. Your contribution makes an important difference to the girls in our community and to growing the game of lacrosse in the Wissahickon Valley.
